About this course

Most testing courses teach you a tool. This course teaches you a skill: how to look at a complex healthcare application and verify it is safe, correct, and ready for real patients.

You'll work hands-on with Helix Health Portal, a realistic outpatient patient portal that handles prescriptions, medical records, billing, clinical notes, and secure patient–provider messaging. Using Claude AI inside VS Code, you'll generate, review, debug, and maintain a full test suite (unit, integration/API, and end-to-end with Playwright), then wire it into CI.

Throughout, the AI is your assistant, not your decision-maker: you decide what to test, why it matters, and whether the result is acceptable. You'll finish able to sit down with any feature in Helix and produce a complete, runnable test suite, plus a capstone project to prove it.

What you'll learn

Use Claude AI inside VS Code to plan, write, and maintain a complete test suite for a realistic healthcare application

  • Drive Claude AI to generate real, runnable tests and know when its output is wrong

  • Write unit tests for healthcare business logic

  • Build API/integration tests

  • Automate full user journeys with Playwright

  • Run tests in CI with GitHub Actions

  • Build a portfolio-ready capstone test suite

What's included

Every enrollment comes with downloadable resources and a complete sample project, so you're building real, runnable test suites from day one, not just watching

  • Helix Health Portal sample app

A complete, realistic healthcare application (React + Express + SQLite) covering prescriptions, records, billing, clinical notes, and secure messaging. Provided ready to run, so you're testing a real system, not a toy CRUD demo. Nothing to buy or build first.

  • Chapter handout library

Downloadable handouts across the course you can keep as on-the-job reference: setup guides, command cheat-sheets, and lab walkthroughs you'll reach for long after the course.

  • Portfolio-ready capstone

A capstone that produces a full, runnable test suite for a Helix feature: a concrete work sample you can show employers or clients.
